How to Play a Video to Participants

Ensuring that your participants can hear the audio when sharing a video on screen

First, you must have started a telehealth call, and your participants should be present. For instructions on getting to this point, click here.

Sharing your screen

  • Click on the share screen button at the bottom of the telehealth call (pictured below).

Choose the correct source to share

  • A pop up will appear on your screen with 3 tabs across the top - Tab, Window, or Entire Screen.
  • Audio sharing will work on both Windows and Mac only on the “Browser Tab” tab (pictured below). This tab will be named after the browser you're using, for example:
    • Chrome Tab
    • Safari Tab
    • Edge Tab
  • You will see a checkbox in the bottom left hand corner that says “Share tab audio” (pictured below).
    • Make sure that is enabled
  • Choose your YouTube/Video tab (pictured below)
  • Click Share

  • After selecting your browser tab and clicking Share, you may need to navigate to the tab you wish to share.
  • Make sure your system volume and the video's volume are up loud enough.
  • Your screen will be visible to the other call participants, and they will be able to both watch and listen to the video.

Other Options

Windows

  • On a Windows computer, you can also enable audio sharing via the “Entire Screen” tab (pictured below).

  • The "Window" tab will not allow for audio sharing (pictured below).

Mac

  • Mac computers can only share audio when sharing a specific browser tab. The "Window" and "Entire Screen" tabs will not allow for audio sharing.
