Meeting Without an Appointment

Sometimes we need to meet with a patient or guest outside of the normally scheduled appointments. In these cases, DocsInk provides the ability to begin impromptu meetings where you can invite someone to join a new call.

Waiting Rooms Workflow

Rooms Tab

  • To begin, click on the Telehealth tab in the left margin
  • Invite a patient to check in to your Waiting Room directly from your telehealth appointment 'Start Session' button OR directly from the 'Invite Patient to Check-in' button (pictured below).

  • If you select the 'Start Session' button, you will then select 'Invite to Check In', choose to send via Email or SMS, confirm the patient phone number/email, and select the Waiting Room you would like this patient to check in to (pictured below).

  • The patient will receive a text or email with a link to check in. Once they click the link, it will ask them to fill out their information from one of these two formats pictured below (please see Configuring Waiting Rooms for more information).

  • The patient will be able to select their appointment time or “I do not have a scheduled appointment”.

  • Once the Patient has checked in, they will run through some tests to make sure their telehealth visit will run smoothly. The patient’s connection will be tested automatically.
  • Even if the patient does not go through all pre-call tests, they will still be prompted to ‘Join Now’ once you start the session.
  • You will then be required to ‘Admit’ the patient or guest into the session. For more information, please see Starting a Telehealth Visit.
